Ten of Pentacles

Many of the modern decks are based on the Marseilles deck. The French historian Antoine Court de Gebelin researched this deck in 1773 and many are scarcely altered from the original woodcuts he described. Ten is the number of completion in the Tarot deck. The cycle of the earthy Pentacles is concerned with creating something physical or tangible which will last longer than one human lifetime and will make that one life meaningful. It suggests doing anything which adds a sense of permanence and stability to life.
