I made 2 of these bags as samples for the August 01 Beadwork. Basically theses are brick stitch tubular bags that can be made in flat peyote. I have tubular peyote equivelants that I worked out with the idea of putting out an ebook (cd)with instructions and various pattern options. One of the pattern for peyote option for the bag on the right is availble on Bead-Patterns.com
Brick Stitch Pattern Item 2440
Bag#1(Beached Seal) on the left is a seed bead tubular brick amulet bag with a seal carved from a deer antler on the flap hanging down on the beach. The fringe is a mix of kinky fringe and corkscrew fringe with charlotes and 12/0 3-cuts. I made this bag on St. Peterburg Beach, FLA and I collected the shell in the fringe from the same place.
Bag #2 is the greenest bag of the three. Both Bags 2 and 3 are tubular brick in delicas. Green is a good color for me becasue my eyes are almost green. The lamp bead on the flap is just part of "The Wave". It was done by one of my favorite lampwork artists Lynne Thompson. The Fringe is all corkscrew fringe with delicas and 12/0 black 3-cuts.
Bag #3 features one of Elaine Popelka's stunning mermaids on the beach. I call this bag Beached Dawn. The seashells are attached on kinky firnge whnile the heavier pink opalescent scallops are held on with stronger corkscrew fringe.
